We follow federal, state, and private assistance programs across food, utilities, health care, housing, employment, and veterans services, and we publish plain summaries of who qualifies and how to apply. We also cover ordinary household savings, because the biggest wins for most families are in the bills they already pay every month.
We are not a government agency and we are not affiliated with any federal or state benefit program. We do not take applications, decide eligibility, or influence any determination. Applying for a government benefit is free, and we say so wherever it is relevant.
Partners and advertisers pay us when a reader asks to be connected with them. That is what keeps the site free. It also sets the standard you should hold us to: our program summaries send you to the official application, not to a paid middleman, and a guide should be useful even if you never click a single offer.

Most programs we write about require residence in one of the fifty states or a related territory, U.S. citizenship or lawful admission to the United States, and an age of eighteen or older. Individual programs add rules on income, household size, age, and disability status, and we list those alongside each program.
